Lived this product since i was 5 years old, i am 71 now and still loving it.

Who doesn’t love Vegemite. It would be a not in Australian of me not to like it. It’s good in toast on crumpets even in sausages! Very versatile and bold flavour

My first yeast spread was marmite in the UK (called "Our Mate" in Australia to differentiate it from the NZ product), and I have to admit that Marmite is still my preferred yeast spread, however, there is something distinctive and classic about Vegemite with a slightly less sharp taste and the same B Vitamin enriched umami that makes a slice of toast a meal. Me, I like it on toast with butter, but it's also good used as a flavour enhancer to soups, stews, and anything you want to have a rich salty, savoury hit of flavour. Just go easy on the quantity - a little goes a long way.

As a South African, trying Vegemite for the first time felt a bit intimidating because I'd heard such mixed reviews. But it turns out I loved it! It's perfect when I'm craving something salty, especially on warm buttered toast. While my hubby and kids don't enjoy it, it's become a favourite snack of mine.
