Between G.oon & Merries, both are equally soft but G.oon is significantly shorter in length and cutting. Recommend G.oon for the first 2 weeks where baby is smaller then move on to Merries when baby has grown bigger. Absorbency during the first month is rather irrelevant as baby poops and pee quite often so the change will be every 2 hours.
