La Roche Posay Effaclar H

I’ve used La Roche‑Posay Effaclar H for years, and for a long time it was the perfect everyday moisturiser for my oily, sensitive skin. It’s lightweight, soothing, and never made me greasy - just balanced and comfortable. I loved how reliably it calmed irritation and paired well with actives like retinol. But now that I’m in my mid‑30s, I’ve noticed it’s no longer enough for my skin. My dehydration has increased, and while Effaclar H still feels comforting, it doesn’t give me the deeper water‑based hydration I need anymore. I find myself feeling tight after cleansing, and the formula just doesn’t keep up the way it used to. I still think it’s a great product for oily or combination skin that needs gentle barrier support without heaviness. It’s just not quite hydrating enough for where my skin is now.

I bough this moisturiser after damaging my skin barrier and have been using it in conjunction with the effaclar H face wash. My skin has been feeling much better, a lot less dry and much less sensitive. The few small breakouts I had started getting have subsided and healed. I am very happy with this product. My only issue with this is the amount you get for the price you pay.
