La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Baume B5

La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Baume B5+ has become a permanent part of my skincare routine. Anytime my skin feels irritated, dry, or just “off,” this is the product I reach for. Whether it’s from over-exfoliating, a breakout, or seasonal dryness, this balm calms things down almost overnight. The texture is thick but smooth, and it creates this gentle, protective barrier on the skin without feeling greasy (as long as you don’t overapply). I mostly use it at night, and by morning my skin feels calmer, more hydrated, and visibly less red or flaky. It’s also great on dry hands, lips, and even small cuts or scrapes. I love that it's fragrance-free and packed with panthenol (vitamin B5), madecassoside, and other barrier-supporting ingredients. It really lives up to its promise of soothing and repairing. I’ve even used it after retinoid irritation or sun exposure, and it never stings. If I had to mention a downside, it would be that it can feel a bit heavy on oilier skin types, especially if used in large amounts. A little definitely goes a long way. Overall, this is one of those rare products that actually does what it claims to do. Very hydrating, personally did not make my face/pores feel clogged. Didn't cause breakouts. My partner also uses this and he suffers from dry, sensitive skin with dermatitis and it works great for him too. Very thick, don't need to use much product which helps justify the price.

This cream is great for a nighttime sleeping mask due to its healing and repair ingredients. The application is a little thick, but for those looking for deep repair and post-acne breakout repair, I think this is a must. I also paired this product with their cleansing gel to ensure I get a good, clean canvas. I did notice that post-acne / picking it helped to reduce redness, irritation and promoted quicker healing where needed. I also noticed that dry areas cleared up overnight or within a few days. Im not sure how those with oily skin would react with this, based on the post slightly oily feeling.

I originally bought this for my daughters nappy rash but have also started using it as a moisturiser when my skin barrier is sensitive and I need a reset. It's incredibly nourishing without making me oily and any redness (on my face or bubs' bum) disappears within the day.
