Clinique Aromatics Elixir

I bought my first aromatic elixir by Clinique in 2006 at Doha duty free and since then i am a regular user of the perfume. I love the distinctive musky smell.

This is my Mum’s absolute all time favourite perfume. I always buy it for her Birthday and Christmas. I love smelling this scent on other women too. Aromatics has such a distinctive smell.

I’ve read so many positive reviews for this fragrance, so I’m wondering if I got a bad batch or even maybe a fake? I received this as a Christmas gift. The smell to me is quite musky, and I usually like musk, but this is to the point of making it feel a bit like an “old ladies” smell. The initial spray has a strong alcohol smell but that dissipates quickly into the musky smell. The fragrance is long lasting and seems to stay closer to the wearer, rather than lingering away - that would be a positive if I was more attracted to the smell. I also found the spray inconsistent and perhaps the spray head has been blocked, as sometimes the spray is more of a wet stream with thick droplets marking where they land, as opposed to being a fine mist. Unfortunately not the one for me.

This is one of my all time favourite perfumes. Quite a strong clean scent that lasts all day. It’s one of a kind and hard to describe but smells absolutely amazing! Very good value as it lasts forever! Lovely gift
