CeraVe Healing Ointment: A Total Skin Savior in a Tube If I could only keep one emergency product in my skincare arsenal, this would be it. The CeraVe Healing Ointment is not a moisturizer—it’s a powerful occlusive balm designed to protect and heal severely dry, cracked, or irritated skin. It is, quite simply, miraculous. My Experience and How I Use It: Texture (The Good Kind of Thick): Let's be honest, it feels like an ointment. It's thick, rich, and has a texture very similar to petroleum jelly, but here's the kicker: it’s formulated to be non-comedogenic and it’s lanolin-free, which is a huge plus for sensitive, acne-prone skin like mine. It does leave a protective, slightly shiny layer on the skin, so this is definitely a nighttime or targeted treatment product. The Ingredients that Work: This isn't just pure petrolatum. It's packed with three essential ceramides to help restore the skin's natural barrier and Hyaluronic Acid to draw in moisture. This combination is what makes it so effective—it heals and hydrates. The "Slugging" Secret: My absolute favorite way to use this is for "slugging" on nights when my skin feels particularly tight, dry, or irritated (like after using a strong retinol or an exfoliating acid). I apply a thin layer over my entire night routine (moisturizer and all), and I wake up to the softest, calmest, plumpest skin of my life. Seriously. Multi-Purpose Hero: Its versatility is amazing. I use it for: Chapped Lips: The best overnight lip treatment I have ever found. Dry Patches: Eradicates rough patches around my nose and eyebrows overnight. Cracked Hands/Cuticles: Instant relief and repair for dry hands, especially in the winter. Minor Irritations: Soothes and protects minor cuts, scrapes, or areas of chafing. Final Verdict: The CeraVe Healing Ointment is a must-have product for barrier repair, intense moisturization, and rapid relief from dryness or irritation. It’s affordable, fragrance-free, and incredibly effective. If you can handle the slightly occlusive (read: shiny/thick) feeling for a few hours, your skin will thank you in the morning.

This is probably my holy grail ointment since i have an eczema it helped soothes the area that is itching when it’s hot. As for the price it’s a bit pricy but it works! Worth the investment.
