Burt’s Bees Shea Butter Hand Cream feels like the practical sibling of the Almond & Milk Hand Cream. Less cute bedtime ritual, more “your dry hands are no longer negotiable.” The first thing I noticed was how intense the moisture is. This is a thick, rich hand cream that actually feels like it’s repairing something instead of just sitting on top of the skin pretending to help. My hands immediately felt softer and less rough after a few uses, especially around the knuckles and fingers where dryness usually shows first. The scent though… definitely more earthy and natural. Very shea butter forward. Not bad, but not the kind of fragrance that makes you dramatically sniff your hands throughout the day either. This feels more functional than luxurious. Texture-wise, it still leans greasy, so I personally prefer using it at night or when I’m staying in. Definitely not the “apply before touching your phone” type of product unless you enjoy fingerprint art on your screen. What I do appreciate is that it works. No unnecessary promises, no pretending to be elegant skincare poetry. Just a solid hand cream that quietly fixes dry hands while you go about your life.

My profession required me to wear gloves 10 hrs a day for a week and since the gloves are powdered, one would expect dryness of hands. My right knuckle and the elbow of my left ring finger became so dry it was itchy and blistery so I was looking for a repair cream with a reasonable cost. As expected, the cream is thick and greasy so just a smear should do the trick. The scent is strong and slightly unpleasant at first but it becomes acquired the more you use it. I massage it on the affected areas and it absorbs perfectly. I used the cream twice daily (morning and night). If you apply it to your hands, it’s probably better to just apply it before sleep since it’s greasy. In just two weeks, the dry spots on my hands started to heal. Since then, it became a staple in my hand regimen. I even tried it with my feet as I wear closed shoes all the time. Maybe you can also try it on your elbows.
