Don't get me wrong - your good ole petroleum jelly works very well on the lips but this product made applying lip balm an enjoyable experience for me. I wasn't really keen on keeping my lips moisturized but after trying this, it made me care for my lips more. As they say, a product is indeed effective if it makes you want to use it more. Disclaimer: it can potentially melt in our (Philippines) weather as mine did LOL
