The perfect al dente

I’ve tried local brands in the market but I cannot simply find the perfect al dente pasta. Some pasta breaks apart when cooked or does not absorb the sauce properly but with San Remo, it is perfect! A little bit pricey compare to other brands but if you want to impress, this is my go-to brand.
Easier to Eat and Less Messy than Spaghetti

Spaghetti is overhyped - probably because it is the only pasta shape associated to Filipino fastfood and fiestas.
I first encountered the pasta shape Penne decades ago at Sbarro.
It helped that I did not have to twirl or slurp it so there is less probability of having the sauce end-up on my face or blouse.
I am happy that the regular groceries now carry more pasta shapes other than spaghetti or macaroni.
The Penne is very mom-friendly since it is very easy to toss in sauce and the size is very convenient for young kids to spear with a fork.
I love the pastas from the San Remo brand since they are beginner-friendly and does not easily get soggy when slightly overcooked. Just follow the directions at the back of the packet, and use your celphone as timer-assist.

Loyal to San Remo brand for pasta in general, as it's in the middle for price range and you get excellent quality for the price.
I love Penne Rigate No. 18. It cooks fast, consistently, and it's hard to overcook. Stays al dente even if you cook a big batch for meal prepping and reheat portions.
Definitely recommend this pasta as it's versatile - tastes great with any kind of sauce, hot or cold, great for pasta salads. Especially since penne is a great shape to hold sauces and it reheats great.
