San Remo Penne Rigate No. 18

This is probably one of the staples that I always see my mom buying from the grocery. We love pasta in our celebrations so we always get this (used mostly for red sauce, but I definitely love this when they're making Creamy Garlic Penne pasta!)

It cooks perfectly al dente and pairs so well with whatever is in the pantry. I love mixing it with Spanish sardines or tuna for an easy flavorful dish that feels like a homemade gourmet meal. It is affordable easy to find and perfect for anyone who wants something simple but delicious.

We keep different kinds of pasta in our pantry, and San Remo often ends up in rotation — whether it’s for a family meal or a quick craving. I tried San Remo Zita Penne (similar to Penne Rigate No. 18) and it cooks perfectly al dente, with the ridges holding onto sauce well — no mush, no mess. This midnight snack was made from leftover sauce in the fridge and San Remo Zita Penne, and it turned into a hearty bowl that hit the spot. Just remember to give it a stir while boiling so the pasta doesn’t stick together, and I like to add a drop or two of olive oil (personal preference). Overall: A solid pantry staple that works well for both everyday meals and last-minute snacks.
