Maybelline Philippines Superstay Ink Crayon [8HR Longwear Matte Lipstick]

I’ve been using the Maybelline Superstay Ink Crayon (8HR Longwear Matte Lipstick) for a while now, and I’d say it’s a pretty solid pick if you’re looking for a fuss-free lipstick that’s easy to apply. The crayon format makes it super convenient—like using a colored pencil on your lips. It glides smoothly, and the built-in sharpener helps keep the tip precise for clean application. In terms of color payoff, it’s impressive. The shades are vibrant and pigmented, so you don’t need to layer too much to get a bold look. It also sets to a nice matte finish without feeling overly heavy or sticky. Now, for the wear test: it claims 8 hours, but in my experience, it doesn’t really last that long if you’re eating or drinking. Light meals and snacks? It stays. But after oily food or coffee, it fades and needs reapplication, especially at the center of the lips. It doesn’t transfer-proof completely either, so you’ll see some smudges on cups. On the comfort side, I like that it’s not as drying as some matte lipsticks, but after a few hours, especially in air-conditioned rooms, my lips start feeling a bit tight. Prepping with balm underneath definitely helps. Packaging-wise, it’s slim and travel-friendly, but the cap can sometimes get loose in the bag, so that’s something to watch out for. Overall, it’s a practical everyday lipstick—lightweight, pretty shades, and easy to carry around. Just don’t expect it to survive a full day of eating without touch-ups.

This is one of my favorite lipsticks from Maybelline, but I think this has already been phased out in the Philippines so it's hard to come by. True to its claims, it really is a long-wear matte lipstick, and this is my go-to lipstick when I need to go to the office, run errands, or go on long trips. While it is not transfer-proof, it is highly pigmented so the color stays on. Others might complain that it's too drying on the lips, as with most matte lipsticks, but I address that by adding lip balm on top whenever necessary. I wish I could have bought more of these when it was still widely available! I only have these two shades with me, which I use almost every day.

I think that this lipstick is for everyday use. It's lightweight and doesn't feel tacky at all when I apply it to my lips. That is why I'm loving it!

I love the shade range, and I got the perfect "my lips but better" (MLBB) shade for me. I love the formula and texture of the lip crayon, and it is very easy to apply, but did not last 8 hours on my lips. However, due to its sleek and small packaging and easy application, it is easy for me to bring the lip crayon around and reapply it when necessary. I do recommend trying because of the shades and texture, but if you do not have the time to always reapply, then this may not be for you.
