This is the second product I buy with the Moroccan rose scent and I can say the rose smell is not what you would usually expect. It is quite sharp and powdery rather than fresh. As for the lip balm the texture is relatively thick so it works best to lock in moisture. Applying a lightweight hydrating product first and then sealing it with this lip balm works so much better.
